Dr. Mark F. Ellison is a native of Augusta, the son of two physicians. He is an honor graduate of Wake Forest University and received his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where he was president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center followed by a fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Before coming to Athens and The Urology Clinic in 1990, he was on the faculty of the Medical College of Georgia and currently is Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery (Urology) at the Medical College of Georgia. While in Athens, Dr. Ellison has been involved in many leadership positions at the local and state level in medical and volunteer organizations, particularly with the American Cancer Society. He is certified by the American Board of Urology, a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, and has presented research papers at numerous professional meetings. Dr. Ellison’s special clinical interests are in oncology and incontinence.
